Canceling your account
Canceling your account
If Sonic Bloom isn't working for you, you can cancel anytime — no phone call, no "are you sure" maze, no hostage situation. Here's how it works and what happens to your stuff.
How to cancel
Where you cancel depends on where you subscribed. Either way your plan stays active until the end of the period you've already paid for — you don't lose time you've paid for.
If you subscribed on the website: cancel yourself from the Billing area of your dashboard. It takes a click.
If you subscribed in the iPhone app: cancel in your Apple Account settings on your device — open Settings, tap your name, tap Subscriptions, then Sonic Bloom. Apple holds that subscription, not us, so the Billing area of your dashboard can't stop it and neither can we. This is Apple's rule for every app, not ours, and it's the one part of cancelling we genuinely can't do for you. If you're not sure which one you have, check the account menu at the top of your dashboard — it says Subscribed · App Store when Apple is billing you.
Refunds for an App Store subscription are handled by Apple too, under their terms.
Take your data with you
Before you go, export your fan list. From the Fans area you can download your entire list as a CSV — emails, names, the works. It's your audience and your data; you keep it. That's the whole philosophy: no hostages. You built that list, and you leave with it.
It's also worth saving anything else you'd want to keep — your bios, photos, and audio masters live on your own devices anyway, but grab a copy of anything you only put into Sonic Bloom.
What happens to your site
When your subscription ends, your public site (your subdomain, custom domain, /connect hub, store) comes down. Your custom domain stops pointing here, so if you want to send it somewhere else later, you're free to repoint the DNS at your registrar.
What happens to your earnings
Your money is unaffected. Tips, sales, merch, and fan club payments all live in your Stripe account — not with us — so canceling Sonic Bloom doesn't touch your balance or your payouts. Stripe keeps paying you out as normal. Your fan club subscriptions are a separate matter: if you're shutting down, let your members know, since their memberships are billed through your Stripe.
Changed your mind?
If you cancel and want to come back, get in touch — we can usually get you reactivated and your content restored within a reasonable window. The sooner you reach out after canceling, the easier it is.
Want to delete your account entirely?
Canceling stops the billing and keeps your content intact. If you want to go further and permanently close your account — erase your fan list, take your site dark for good, and remove your data from our servers — that's a separate action with more consequences. See Deleting your account for how that works and what can't be undone.
Before you go — can we help?
Genuinely: if something's not working, tell us. A lot of "I'm cancelling" emails turn out to be "I couldn't figure out X." Jamey reads these personally and would rather fix the problem than lose you.
