Your earnings

Earnings in your dashboard answers the question the rest of the product used to make you work out yourself: how did I do?

The two numbers

• Earned — everything that landed this year: gigs, merch, music and tips, added together, with this month called out underneath.
• Still owed — nights you've played that haven't paid yet. It links straight to the gigs so you can chase them.

Underneath, the same year is broken out by source, and a month-by-month bar chart shows how the year actually went. If you've been at this more than a year, the year buttons at the top switch between them.

Where the money actually is

This is the part worth understanding, because the two halves behave differently.

Tips, music and merch go through Stripe, straight into your Stripe account. Sonic Bloom never holds that money and takes 0% of it — the only deduction is Stripe's own processing fee. Your balance, your payout dates and your bank account all live in your Stripe dashboard, and there's a button on the Earnings page that opens it.

Gig money is different. A venue hands you a guarantee, or the door, in cash or by transfer — that never touches Stripe and never touches us. When you mark a gig paid, you're telling Sonic Bloom what happened so your year adds up correctly. No payout is coming from us for that half, and the page says so, because a number that looks like a pending payment when it isn't is worse than no number.

Come January

The month-by-month view is there for the conversation you have once a year with whoever does your taxes. Everything is by when the money arrived, not when you played — a March gig paid in May is May's money, which is the way an accountant will want it.

You can also export the underlying detail: buyers from a release's sales page, orders from Merch → Orders, and your fan list from Fans.

Fan Club is shown separately

Fan Club income is a monthly rate rather than a series of one-off payments, so it isn't folded into the year total — that would count money twice or count it early. You'll find current members and what they're worth per month under Fan club → Members.

Who can see it

If you have bandmates on your account, earnings are owner-only. They can see gigs, dates and the day sheet without seeing what anything paid — in plenty of bands the leader is the employer, and the software shouldn't force that conversation.
