Selling your own merch
Selling your own merch
If you've got boxes of shirts, vinyl, CDs, or stickers in your closet, you can sell them straight from your site — and pack and ship them yourself. This is "self-fulfilled" merch: you hold the stock, you control the quality, and you keep everything except Stripe's card fee. 0% commission from us.
(If you'd rather not handle stock or shipping at all, see Print-on-demand merch — we connect you to a partner who prints and ships for you.)
Listing a product
In Merch, add a product with:
- A photo (or a few)
- A title and description
- A price
- Optional inventory count — set a number to track stock, or leave it unlimited
Connect Stripe first so you can take payment — see Connecting Stripe to get paid. Once published, your merch shows up on your store and your /connect hub.
When a fan buys
Fans can add several items to a cart and pay for everything in one go — mix and match your shirts, vinyl, and print-on-demand pieces, set the quantity on each, then check out once. They review the cart, see shipping, and pay securely with their card. The money goes straight to your Stripe account, and a single order lands in your Merch Orders dashboard with the fan's details, shipping address, and every item they bought.
A few things worth knowing:
- One artist per cart. A fan's cart holds items from one artist at a time (that's how the secure, commission-free payout works), so buying from two different artists is two separate checkouts.
- Shipping adds up per print-on-demand item. Your own packed-and-shipped items don't add a shipping charge at checkout — you set your prices to cover postage. Each print-on-demand item carries its own shipping (since the partner ships each one), and those add together in the cart total.
Fulfilling orders (you ship it)
Because this is your own merch, you do the shipping. From Merch Orders you can:
- See every order and its shipping address
- Mark an order shipped — which sends the fan a notification that it's on its way
- Export orders as a CSV for printing labels or feeding into your shipping tool
- Issue a refund if you need to
Best sellers
Your merch dashboard shows a best-sellers list — the top 5 items by units sold across all completed orders. It's a quick read on what's actually moving so you know what to restock or promote.
Tips for self-shipped merch
- Keep inventory honest. If you only have 20 of a tour shirt, set the count so you don't oversell.
- Photograph it well. A clean photo on a hanger or flat-lay sells better than a wrinkled phone snap.
- Set realistic prices — remember the card fee comes off the top, and you're covering postage and packaging out of your margin.
- Ship promptly and mark it shipped so fans get their notification and know it's coming.
