Favicon and social sharing
Sonic Bloom automatically handles the small details that make your site look professional when someone shares it — the icon in their browser tab, the card that appears when they post your link on Instagram or iMessage, and the structured information that helps music platforms and search engines understand who you are.
Your favicon (the browser tab icon)
The favicon is the tiny icon that appears in a browser tab when someone has your site open, and in bookmarks.
Upload your own
You can upload a custom favicon under Profile in your dashboard. Supported formats: PNG and SVG, up to 1 MB.
Good favicon choices:
- Your logo mark or wordmark (not the whole horizontal lockup — it'll be too small)
- A simple symbol, monogram, or silhouette from your brand
- Something that reads clearly at 32×32 pixels or smaller
SVG files are ideal because they stay sharp at any size. If you're uploading a PNG, aim for at least 512×512 pixels.
The generated fallback
If you haven't uploaded a favicon yet, Sonic Bloom generates one automatically: your artist initial in your theme's accent color on a matching background. It's clean, on-brand, and always in sync with your theme — no blank tab, no Sonic Bloom logo, just you.
The fallback updates if you change your theme or palette. Once you upload your own, it takes over permanently (unless you remove it).
Social sharing cards
When someone shares a link to your site — in a text message, on Instagram, in a tweet, or anywhere else that renders Open Graph previews — a card appears with your site name, a description, and optionally an image.
Sonic Bloom fills this in from your profile automatically:
- Title — your artist name
- Description — your bio, trimmed to preview length
- Image — your hero photo or album cover, if you have one set
- Site name — your artist name
You don't have to do anything to make this work. The moment your site is Live, sharing links produces a proper card.
What gets picked for the image
The sharing image comes from the first usable image on your profile — typically your hero photo. If you don't have one set yet, the card simply won't show an image preview (which is fine — some platforms show a text-only card instead).
For best results, a square or 1.91:1 landscape photo tends to look best across platforms.
JSON-LD structured data
Every artist site also includes a machine-readable MusicGroup description embedded in the page. This is invisible to your fans but helps search engines, streaming services, and knowledge panels understand your site as a musician's homepage — your name, bio, URL, and social links all in a structured format. No action needed; it's there automatically.
Custom domain note
If you've connected a custom domain, the canonical URL in your sharing cards and structured data reflects your custom domain, not your Sonic Bloom subdomain. Fans and crawlers see your domain, not ours.
